The main objective of TOMRES is to increase tolerance to combined water and nutritional stress in tomato cultivation
EDYPRO Biotechnology will present the European project TOMRES during its participation in the Infoagro Exhibition. This initiative is co-financed under the European Community's Horizon 2020 program and involves universities, research centers, companies, and agricultural associations from across Europe.
The objective of TOMRES is to increase tolerance to combined water and nutritional stress in tomato cultivation and maximize water and nutrient use efficiency, through the design and field verification of novel combinations of genotypes and crop management practices that reduce the environmental impact of agronomic activities.
Specifically, EDYPRO is participating in this initiative with two of its biotechnology solutions: COUPÉ REGENERATION Plus y ROOT PROCUJI. The combination of both products results in tomato crops with maximum yield under stressful conditions.
EDYPRO believes that TOMRES' objectives also address the needs of agriculture in Almería. Therefore, the company will be presenting information about TOMRES at its stand, along with some preliminary results obtained so far. The Valencian firm has also invited the more than 20 research groups from across Europe involved in the initiative to visit the fair, share their experiences, and learn firsthand about the region's agriculture, which enjoys a high reputation in Europe for its quality.
Furthermore, EDYPRO will take advantage of its presence at Infoagro Exhibition to explain to visitors how biotechnological solutions achieve the production of crops with maximum productive potential, through the optimal genetic expression of each variety and without residues.
It will also showcase the latest releases developed in 2018: SPECIAL ROOTING AGENT, which activates the development of secondary roots and absorbent hairs in crops and helps with rooting at critical times; CA-FRUIT, a special biotechnological formulation of high calcium content without nitrogen that facilitates fruit thickening; and ZIMA MAX IRON, a solution of microelements of zinc, manganese and iron of very high concentration that helps to quickly correct deficiencies of these elements and to prevent them thanks to its slow release effect.
Also on display will be the brand's best-selling products in the Andalusian market: COUPÉ REGENERATION Plus, ROOT PROCUJI, EDYFRUIT ROOT ENLARGEMENT, CINDERELLA, MELASTOP, FER CALCIUM y EDYFOS.
For EDYPRO, greenhouse cultivation in the Almería region and the Granada coast is of great importance due to its weight in national agriculture and the volume of revenue it generates. Therefore, Infoagro Exhibition is one of the company's most important events of the year.
As Arina Vovk, the firm's sales and marketing director, explains, “We want to continue increasing the positive reception of our products in the southeast of the country. We believe that EDYPRO's solutions and philosophy are a good fit with the professionalism and demands of the sector in this region.”.
