Whenever possible, on weekends, during vacations, and in his free time, he would help him with his crops. It is during this period that we find the roots of his love for agriculture and agronomic management, which would materialize in EDYPRO a few years later.

“I loved accompanying my father to work in the fields, because I felt 'like the grown-ups', while also feeling fulfilled. I felt capable of doing things, I could experiment and be creative.‘.

From a very young age, Vicente Puchol saw far beyond the surface. He liked to understand the reasons behind things; he was a curious, creative, and imaginative child who always sought to go a little further than ordinary people.

“Once I prepared a small plot of land I had, I made furrows in it and left it perfect for planting. I planted 'pesetas' and I got very angry when, after a while, I realized that nothing was growing.‘.

He tells us the story himself in this video:

Naturally, when it came time to go to university, he decided to study Agronomy and specialize in plant physiology. After graduating, he worked for a few years as a Technical Sales Representative for a company. And without seeking it, the passion he felt for his work blossomed, but it did so by sowing seeds of doubt in his mind.

“I realized that in precision agriculture there were no valid and powerful tools developed to make crops function in optimal conditions, without being affected by intrinsic and extrinsic factors, in order to achieve excellent crops as a goal.”.

He decided he would remedy this deficiency himself. And he did so despite facing many difficulties, as those around him saw no future for the project. “My environment questioned me night and day, they didn't know my abilities; but I was clear that I was going to achieve it.”.

Despite everything, Vicente Puchol persevered and in 1996 launched EDYPRO. On a small family property, he researched, developed, produced, labeled, and packaged his products. And there, among his family and friends, he proved all those who hadn't believed in him just how wrong they were.

“When I was developing a new product, I would visit my father and offer it to him to try on his crops. He wouldn't tell me if it worked well for him, but after a while he would ask me if I had more of the product and how much more I had.”.

The beginnings were not without great sacrifices. “I got ahead on my own, without banks. I always reinvested 100% of the profits in the company, I worked hard, I didn't have salespeople and I had to do everything myself. That's when I understood that passion and tenacity are essential to starting projects.”.

This is how EDYPRO grew and became established. Along the way, there was a lot of hard work: visiting fields, analyzing agronomic problems, finding the root causes, proposing solutions, conducting training conferences for technicians and farmers… A total of 25 years in which, in addition to the recognition from clients for a job well done, there is the satisfaction of being someone they trust to solve their problems and achieve premium crops.

For the next 25 years, Vicente Puchol wishes to continue researching, innovating and working to add value. “Feeding humanity without waste and improving health is no easy task. EDYPRO will continue its research to address the challenges of agriculture and respond to market demands.”.

His motivation? To surpass himself every morning. “I’ve already done many things, but I can do them better.”.

Vicente Puchol, fundador, gerente y director técnico de EDYPRO, recuerda que en su infancia le hacía extremadamente feliz acompañar a su padre al campo.
