THE DIFFICULTIES IN THE CALIBER OF THE PRI-23
This year, due to the ongoing drought we are experiencing nationwide, we are having significant difficulties in achieving commercial sizes in early varieties.
The PRI-23 variety is suffering significantly, and when hormonal products have been used for fruit enlargement, the variety rapidly undergoes a marked change in color and the beginning of ripening; at this point, fruit thickening stops, resulting in a size that is not commercially viable. Furthermore, the fruit treated with hormones has a deviated central axis and is swelling more on one side than the other, meaning the fruit has a deformed morphology.

This situation is slowing down sales in the field and raising serious questions about whether exports will be possible this year or if the product will fall outside the demands of the markets.
Next, we can see the PRI-23 variety handled by the EDYPRO biotechnology (without the use of hormones), the fruit is reaching the end of the thickening stage, maintaining the intense green color and continuing the fattening process.
On this farm, the fruit sizes are around 45-50 mm, and some fruits already exceed 50 mm. The essential oil glands have a great capacity for dilation and are ready for further fattening in the final stage.
In the following photos you can observe an excellent configuration of the fruit, the large and very uniform size, and the good condition of the trees.
All these advantages have been obtained through the management of the farm using Precision Agriculture techniques. EDYPRO biotechnology.
