“Sword point” in cucumber

PROBLEM

In intensive crops, the result depends on the correct nutritional balance and water frequency, according to the needs of the crop.

In the following images we can see a cucumber crop in the autumn cycle, where there was excessive use of potassium and irrigation to slow down and correct the fruit malformation known as "sword point".

The excess potassium was blocking calcium and reducing the plant's osmotic potential (ability to pump raw sap from the root system).

At the same time, the excessive watering frequency had ended up breaking down the absorbent hairs of the roots, and had left the plant without the ability to hydrate and feed itself.

SOLUTION
  • First dynamic: completely discontinue conventional fertilization.
  • Second dynamic: reduce the frequency of irrigation to water only according to the plant's demand.
And start with the application. via the root canal;
Application via foliar application;
  • BOTCAR                                     3 L x 1000 L
  • ALGATRON                              2 L x 1000 L
  • SPECIAL ROOTING AGENT  3 L x 1000 L
  • MELASTOP                               2 L x 1000 L
The weakness at the fruit's apex was causing a significant attack of Mycosphaerella and the treatment with a single application has been able to radically stop the attack.
RESULT
The following images show the appearance of the crop after treatment:
