David Peña is a young agricultural engineer and farmer who continues his father's work and farm in the Almería countryside. He is the third generation in his family to be involved in farming. Today he shares his experience with biotechnological solutions from EDYPRO.

Tell us about your personal experience. What is your farm like, what type of crops do you grow, and where is it located?
I am the third generation dedicated to agriculture, so my family has been involved in it for as long as I can remember, and we exclusively cultivate tomatoes. My background is in Agricultural Engineering. And I started working in the family business three years ago.
We have 5 hectares of greenhouse-grown tomatoes in Almería, under double roofs. The weather conditions here are excellent. And for some time now, we've been investing in a new variety of tomatoes: Cherry vine tomatoes for Lobello, San Marzano tomatoes, and Oxheart tomatoes, as these varieties command higher prices.
What is your experience with EDYPRO's biotechnology solutions?
My father, who has been in the business many more years than I have, tells me that he knows EDYPRO for about 10 years now, since Fitocañada They began distributing their biotechnological solutions.
Based on the type of crop, which EDYPRO biotechnological solutions do you use most often, and what results have you obtained?
ROOT PROCUJI, It gives us a lot of balance during the flowering process because there are times of the year when the cold affects flowering, in addition to being Zero Residue. REVOLUTION, for the control of whiteflies.
REGENERATION PLUS COUPÉ, We like it a lot because it helps to strengthen the root system and helps the plant to never lack nutrients, since in winter it always loses some root and this biotechnological solution helps it.
Y EDYFRUIT ROOT ENLARGEMENT, Because when you use it, after four or five days you'll notice that the tomato fruit increases in size and this has an impact on its quality. We also frequently rely on EDYFOS, which is extra help for the plant during times of stress.
We are seeing how the market demands increasingly organic agricultural products, with zero residue, and is only willing to pay for quality products. What is your experience in this regard?
Yes, there is a trend toward higher quality products with better flavor and appearance. I believe that if you offer the market specialty products with superior flavor, you can command a premium price, allowing you to continue investing in your business and innovating to stay competitive.
Besides the results of EDYPRO's solutions, what do you value in a company with its characteristics?
Its innovation and the solutions it provides to the problems of the countryside. EDYPRO It is constantly researching to provide current solutions for the agricultural sector, and that's why it never falls behind. This is in addition to its close relationship with distributors and farmers, and the technical advice it provides to address problems that arise in the field.
And something very important that other companies in the sector lack is the commitment it is making to communication on social networks and media because this gives a lot of visibility to agriculture and the company to reach the farmer and is also another way to innovate.
For you, the management of EDYPRO's biotechnological solutions has resulted in the prize of a trip to the Fiji Islands. How did you experience this draw?
Well, with immense joy because when they told me I thought I wasn't going to win because whenever you participate in these kinds of contests you think there are very few opportunities, but when they called me it was an immense joy.
The truth is that it's a destination that rarely crosses your mind because it's so far away, but I'm going to enjoy it a lot.
