I am Alejandro Maña, a farmer from Castellón. Great-grandson, grandson, and son of farmers, and, thanks to fate, I am not the father of female farmers. I say this because I feel excluded, both socially and economically, by the Public Administration, by politicians, by agricultural associations… And above all, by you, the print and broadcast PRESS.
It's wonderful that Mr. Feijóo is meeting with the tile industry and that you're giving him the green light! How much we need the wages from that industry!
Well done for highlighting the serious problems of the struggling hospitality industry in so many of your radio programs!
But please, dedicate some of your time to agricultural producers (including Feijóo), because apart from the current market problem where consumers pay 1000% (that is, 10 times more) than what we producers receive, now we have been hit with the gas cap payment, without anyone, I repeat, no one, doing anything about it.
Not even in feudal times were farmers subjected to such an unjustifiable tax or tithe for the greater wealth of the powerful (church and rulers before, now the large electric companies that count their quarterly profits in the thousands).
In short, it's now impossible for us to irrigate our fields, and not for lack of water. We're going to lose our own agricultural production and the spectacular citrus landscape that brings so many benefits to our town on the Levante coast.
