Results of the application of PRO-CONTROL in the cultivation of Persimmon

Biotechnology EDYPRO It is increasingly present in more and more fields due to its high efficiency and the good results it offers, both in production and in the quality of the fruit. 

In this case, we offer some data on the application of our biotechnology solution. PRO-CONTROL in a persimmon orchard. In this case, the aim was to reduce summer bud break to decrease the need for summer pruning. This experiment was carried out in a field managed with our integrated persimmon crop management plan, where one area was treated with PRO-CONTROL in June, leaving a portion of the witness untreated.  

Since application, very little new growth has been observed in the treated area, eliminating the need for two summer prunings and saving time and labor. But the most interesting surprise is now, with larger fruit size and earlier ripening in the treated area.

According to the data collected, in the untreated control area, the average diameter is 74.65 mm. In this same untreated control area, in addition to this average, the minimum diameter found was 67 mm and the maximum diameter was 83 mm. 

While in the area treated with PRO-CONTROL, The average caliber is 79.53mm, with a minimum caliber of 71mm and a maximum caliber of 90mm. 

After this comparison between both areas, we observed a considerable difference, since the difference is 4mm above a fairly high average (increase of 7%), saving 2 green prunings for the farmer.
