Javier Ribelles took over Fruteq in 2014. A family business, with more than 50 years of experience in the sector, which has long relied on EDYPRO products and the advice and guidance of Vicente Puchol to understand the problems of the citrus crops they manage as a service company.

• How long have you been working with EDYPRO products?

My father was the one who started using EDYPRO products. When I joined the company four years ago, his experience and support, along with Vicente's advice, were a great help.

Since then we have further increased the volume of products we work with and strengthened the relationship.

• Which product do they recommend and use the most?

For me, the star product is ORGANOVITAL PLUS. Our customers grow citrus trees using the 99%, and this product, in my opinion, delivers the most spectacular results. The others also offer excellent results, but they aren't as immediately noticeable. Applying this product to trees that are already struggling produces an almost immediate change.

The use of ORGANOVITAL PLUS, along with COUPE REGENERATION PLUS It's a recommendation we routinely make to all our customers, for both clementines and oranges. With these two, along with BIDESINFECTION PLUS We have obtained excellent results on farms that seemed lost.

• What perception do your customers have of EDYPRO products?

Fortunately, our relationship with our clients is so close and long-lasting that they trust us completely, and if we deem the use of EDYPRO products appropriate, they approve. And since this is reflected in the results, they are very satisfied.

• What are these results?

Especially with extra-early varieties and Sanguinelli, which we might call gourmet varieties, the use of these products is reflected in the bottom line. By investing 20% in biotechnology, they obtain an additional 40% in profit. Often, when retailers come to buy the fruit, they ask, "What do you do to make your fruit taste better?".

Specifically with the Sanguinelli, we have the problem that it makes very small calibers and is aimed at a specific market. premium This is a disadvantage. These are trees with very little vigor that need special care to produce larger fruit. EDYPRO products help us achieve this and also keep the trees in good condition.

In general, the trees' health improves; they grow more vigorously, have a different color, and give the impression that they are capable of finishing the season in perfect condition and starting the next one just as well. And from them, in addition to good-sized fruit, you obtain organoleptic qualities of the highest quality.

• Tell us about a case where managing with EDYPRO has made a difference for a crop.

I remember a field in the Almenara area, a crop of Oronules in a mountainous region. We noticed that the field wasn't growing or fruiting properly. I consulted with Vicente, and he told me it showed symptoms of a parasitic infection.

We had the soil analyzed and, indeed, there were alarming levels of nematodes. Vicente then recommended a treatment with periodic applications of BIDESINFECTION PLUS to interfere with the parasite's reproductive cycle. We followed their instructions and, although we had to wait until the next season to see the results, they were very satisfactory and their effects last to this day.

• From your point of view, what other added value does EDYPRO offer, beyond the excellent results?

For me, what makes them stand out, besides the obvious effects on crops, is their after-sales service. Personally, when I started in the sector, I lacked field experience, and I've been able to count on comprehensive advice from Vicente, who has always explained to me which treatments are most appropriate, when to apply them, and in what doses to achieve the goals of excellent crop yields that Fruteq aims for.
