José Rivera comes from a family with a long agricultural tradition. He represents the fourth generation dedicated to farming and has also worked as a sales representative for EDYPRO. He welcomes us to his mandarin orchard in Torres Torres, where he cultivates Oronules and Esbal varieties, to tell us how EDYPRO's biotechnology makes his life easier and improves the quality of his crops.

  • I've been using EDYPRO products for many years…

Yes, I've known Vicente since '92, and when he embarked on this project, I didn't hesitate to back him. He's someone you can really trust because he has a great understanding of the fields and the plants. But above all, you realize he's not just there to make a sale and hand you an invoice. He tells you if it needs watering, pruning, and so on. You feel like he genuinely cares about your work.

  • What is it about EDYPRO products that has made you trust them for so many years?

I know them well, because I've worked as a distributor for several years, but what's more, they deliver results. And with consistency and regular use, these results are long-lasting.

Although the results are often less noticeable if the crop decline is only slight, when the crop is in critical condition, the results are spectacular with just a few interventions. The truth is, if you compare them to other products, the differences are immediately apparent.

  • Tell us about a time when they saved your year.

I can give you a very clear example from my time as a distributor. We would usually go onto a farm when they didn't know what else to do. They had tried conventional solutions and nothing worked. Then they would turn to biotechnology and we would pull them through. We've saved crops that their owners thought were doomed.

  • And in their lands?

This year's mandarin crop had some damage. Now the peel has regenerated and is perfect. While some varieties have been ruined in the area in certain years, here they've performed exceptionally well, successfully overcoming the climatic challenges.

You also realize that when you harvest the field, the tree is left in perfect condition for the following year.

I always say that you have to have faith in these products because, although the results are tangible, they're less obvious when everything is going well. You simply perceive that your field is functioning very well, and that makes you relax and can lead you to "the dark side.".

  • What is this "dark side" thing?

Last year I relaxed. It was a good year, without major problems, and I thought: I'll just throw in whatever I want because this year it'll work itself and I can save a few euros. What did I end up doing? Ruining things (a bad harvest) and having to fix them this year with EDYPRO's help.

The numbers speak for themselves. Last year the Oronules harvest was 55,000 kilos. This year it has been 130,000 kilos.

  • Why would I recommend EDYPRO to other farmers?

The results speak for themselves. Let me tell you a funny story. A while ago, a buyer came to me and said he had a client who was using some amazing products that made his plants grow incredibly fast and with impressive quality. He said he'd give me the information a few days later. I spent hours laughing when he sent me a message recommending EDYPRO products. "Yes, they sound familiar," I told him.

The truth is that, in addition to the quality and excellent results of the products, Vicente provides a truly personalized service. It's difficult to find someone who feels a passion for agronomy as much as he does and whose work with the land and his clients reflects that passion.
