In EDYPRO We are aware that where we are today is the result of the right decisions and attitudes we have taken throughout our journey. 

We have a 25-year history in which we have managed to position ourselves as leaders in the development of biotechnology products with high agronomic results for the agriculture of the future.

Today we are proud to have two laboratories, two factories, and three experimental fields. We have a presence in the national market, as well as internationally; in Portugal, France, and Italy. 

Some of our biotechnology solutions have marked a turning point in agriculture, such as ROOT PROCUJI, which has completely transformed the way fertilization is activated and carried out and has become the product that has suffered the most plagiarism attempts (read the story here).

But as we've said, who we are today is a result of all the challenges and milestones we've achieved over these 25 years. Let's take a look back. Will you join us?

Biotechnology research began in 1996

Vicente Puchol's dream began to materialize as he researched, developed, and produced his biotechnological solutions in an old family facility. Alone, reinvesting all profits and acting as his own salesman, he eventually founded his company in 1996. EDYPRO Biotechnology. 

The first product developed and launched on the market was ORGANOVITAL PLUS, which continues to be extremely popular with customers. In line with the company's commitment to continuous improvement, its formulation has undergone several enhancements over the years to achieve rapid action and a spectacular response in trees.

The prodigious decade

The 2000s marked the consolidation of EDYPRO and recognition of all the research and innovation work developed by Vicente and the EDYPRO team. It was a golden age in which he received numerous awards such as: Best Business Initiative, CEEI, in 2000; 1st Prize for Operational Projects, Caixa Popular, in 2001, and the BANCAIXA Award for Young Entrepreneurs in 2002.

Also during that period, specifically in November 2003, a new production plant was inaugurated with a production capacity of 200 tons per year. Over the years, this plant has been modernized and its production capacity has been increased, tripling the initial manufacturing volume. 

In 2004, it received a Nova Award nomination in the "Creation of an Innovative Company" category, highlighting its research and development of solutions that replaced hormonal substances for fruit set. And it ended the decade in 2009 with the PACTEM NORD Environmental Respect and Promotion Award for Co-responsibility.

The beginning of the century also saw our entry into the Almería market, where greenhouse horticulture predominates. It was one of the most demanding markets in terms of innovation, field results, product quality, and technical service.

Access to the plant genome activation key

The result of more than 10 years of research, we discovered the key to accessing the RNA needed to activate the expression of genes linked to crop production factors. With this project, we were finalists for the InnovaQ award in 2011. We received this award, granted by the Cotec Foundation, from the hands of the then monarch, and now King Emeritus, Juan Carlos I.

From this discovery, flagship products such as the following have been developed and improved: EDYFRUIT RICE, ROOT PROCUJI, EDYFRUIT ROOT ENLARGEMENT, EDYFRUIT CORN, SOYBEAN CURD, SOY BUTTERING, etc. 

Present and future: Innovation for the agriculture of the future

We have now established a solid foundation to continue researching and developing innovative biotechnological solutions. We are market leaders with products of recognized high efficacy and differentiated value for both farmers and end consumers of the fruit. We have already developed 87 products, 20 of which are certified for use in organic farming and 23 of which are zero-residue.

Our commitment to research has driven us to collaborate on national and international projects, such as TOMRES, which is part of the HORIZON 2020 research program. 

In this regard, we are a Bureau Veritas certified company and recognized as an innovative SME. We are listed by the EC as a research entity and are founding members of BIOVAL, the Valencian Community's Bio Cluster.

We continue to conduct scientific research in Biotechnology to find solutions to the difficulties in crop management, pursuing and achieving internationally recognized Premium agriculture.
